Electronics & Telecommunication Department : Activities

An Insight into the Activity : Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organised a Technical Poster Presentation on the topic Engineering Innovations. Students from all Engineering streams participated in the vent, raising the total tally of participants to 40. Various fields characterising Engineering Excellence like Future Robotic World, Hydel Power Plant and Satellite Communications found their place in the posters presented by the students. Selected posters were exhibited before the guests for the formal function that afternoon. Poster made by Chingang (EEE Sem I) was adjudged the best while Bhoomika Sinha (ETE Sem VII) and Bhavna Rathod (CSE Sem III) won the second and third prizes respectively. Winners were awarded with trophies and certificates.

Objective : The aim of this activity was to enable our students to know about the components which are used in electronic circuit design.

An Insight into the Activity : The Component Identification Activity was held for BE - III semester students. Some electronic components were given to identify and to find its value by decoding. The component value was to be noted down after identification. This activity was held in Basic Electronics Laboratory.

Objective :

  • To learn circuit designing beyond syllabus.
  • To know about the components required for a specific design of circuit.

Briefing of the event : The students were assembled in Basic Electronics Lab. The required electronic components were issued to them from BE and LIC Labs. Planning the circuit was a pre-phase activity. They were asked to design the circuits that they planned earlier. It was a team event and great enthusiasm was observed among the students. Prof. Pankaj Gulhane was the judge of this event. Phase - III of the event is scheduled on 4/09/15 for testing and assessment.

Objective : To enable our students to deliver a presentation on the research work that they have done for their projects or on any other specific area under which they are working for paper presentation.

Briefing of the event : The students were gathered in the AVR of E&TC department. In all there were 7 project groups in BE VII semester. Each group was to deliver a presentation on their research work. Every member of the group was to give the presentation on their respective topics. After the presentation there was a question round from the panel of judges as well as by audience also. On the basis of their performance they were evaluated. Individually Vedang Makwe, Gulmehar Singh and Ankita Bijlani were the best speakers of their groups. Prof. Ritesh Bohra and Prof. Ch. Ananth Babu judged the event.

  • To prepare the students for competitive exams.
  • To test their technical knowledge.

Participants : BE - III and V semester students.

Elimination Round : 5 Teams, 10 Questions
Passing Round : 3 Teams, 5 Questions

Event Held on : 14th August 2015

Briefing of the Event : There were two rounds in the quiz competition. In the elimination round 10 questions were asked. The teams with the top three scores were selected for second round in which 5 questions were asked, it was a passing round .The quiz was based on the previous curriculum. It was a very learning and interesting event for the students. Quiz Coordinators/Scorer were Prof. Ritesh Bohra and Prof. Ch. Ananth Babu.

Aim : This workshop is aimed with special emphasis on "Equality in development so that the benefit of technological growth reach the majority of the population".

Participants : All the students of E& TC department were the participants of this Techo-Medical event CMTMIE 2015 which was held on 31st July - 1st August 2015. The students are benefitted a lot by the talks of the guests from various fields of Science & Technology and Medical Sciences.

An outlook of the Event : Dr. Mrs. Usha Dixit Scientist ‘D’ Dept. of Science & Technology , Govt. of India, New Delhi delivered a presentation on Indian Innovation System . She said that Techno-Medical fields are complementary to one-another The combination of multiple brains , ideas and thoughts lead to form the development of new technology.
Dr. Nishchal K Verma Associate Professor ,Dept. of Electrical Engg, IIT Kanpur conveyed a presentation on Intelligent Health monitoring System.
Dr. Fatema Electricwala Senior Consultant MAPTCEL Gandhinagar Gujarat delivered a presentation on Communication of Indian Road Mobility Network.
A presentation on IT and Transportation by Dr. Rakesh Kumar NIT, Surat.
Dr. Vivek Dixit delivering a presentation on Silicon Modulator.
On 1st August 2015 the Medical Intervention was held in which Prof. (Dr. ) Mukund Humbarde emphasized that the upcoming engineers and doctor must join hand to hand in innovations for early detection ,diagnose and removal of the diseases . Our fastest growing state needs a direction so that "Made in Chhattisgarh will be a part of Make in India". Dr. Mrs. Anu Nagarkar SR, Speech therapist AIIMS Raipur,Dr. Purnendu Saxena Director VY Hospital , Kamal Vihar Raipur,Prof. (Dr. )P.K. Neema Professor and HOD Dept. of Anaesthesiology, AIIMS Raipur were also the guest speakers of the event. The impressions of the event left footprints in the mind of our young students.

An outlook of the Event : Teacher Guardian Meeting was planned to be held on first Friday of each month. This was the first TG meet with the students. During this period BE 7th semester students went for the T&P session as per the schedule received from Head,T&P department and BE 3rd semester students were absent.
BE 5th Semester students had a TG Meet with Ms. Ranjana Shrivastava (Class Teacher). There were 8 students present and Saibi Sukain Khan went for the practice session of Foundation day. The students shared following points -

  • They requested for the hard copy of syllabus of BE 5th semester for each subject.
  • No difficulties in understanding subjects.
  • In C++ at present 2 labs are allotted which is not sufficient as they need more practice sessions.
  • They requested for the functioning of duct and Wi-Fi.

An outlook of the Event : The orientation program for BE 5th and 7th semester students was held on 7th July 2015 . Students were enthusiastic and passionate towards the proceedings of the program. Welcome speech delivered by Mrs. Zoonubiya Ali HOD (E & TC). Information about various event date and month wise description in this academic session was also explained to students. She explained them about the importance of attendance for improving their result. She also explain them about the certificate courses going to be held in coming semester. It helps the students for planning in their studies.

Mr. Gourishankar Sharma is the in charge of Projects and Certificate Courses . He explained about various areas of concern for making selection of a project. He informed the students about the rules and regulation, contents, outcomes and other related information in this area.

Mrs. Aparna Karwal is the in charge of Exam and CT / TA Marking Scheme . She explained in detail about the policies related to various tests and exams to held during this session. She informed about the rules and regulations related to CT/TA and marking scheme of CT/ TA this session. Students gained ideas planning for the test performance improvement.

Mr. Pankaj Gulhane is the in charge of Research and Development activities to be held in the department .He explained about how to prepare technical papers and also how to participate in seminars and conferences for paper presentation . He delivered ideas on research activities.

Event Held on : 07 July 2015

Purpose : The purpose of this activity was to enable our students to take part in PI with confidence which is organized by various companies.

Briefing of the event : Our Department organizes Self Introduction Competition the first activity of this academic session. The students from BE 5th and 7th semester participated in it with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Students introduced themselves and spoke about five qualities within them. They also tell about their interest, hobbies and role models.

Event Held on : 10 July 2015

Purpose : The purpose of this activity was to enable our students to take part in GD and project their ideas with confidence.

Briefing of the event : Students from all the semesters participated in it. Mr. Ch. Ananth Babu gave them the guidelines to initiate the group discussion. The topic selected for GD was "Digital India". Students put their ideas and views on it. There was an exchange of ideas between the group members. Maximum participation was observed. Sanjhee Sharma was the initiator of the GD and it was concluded by Aditi Mishra of BE-VII semester.

Briefing of the event : As BE 3rd semester joined the session a week later so self Introduction activity was organized for them on 24th July 2015. This activity was a merged event with Tech How Competition. Raj Kumar Sahu gave his basic introduction told about his hobbies . He also shared his one year experience at DIMAT.

Objective : To enable our students to explain the function of the new technology which is developed in Electronics and Telecommunication Industry.

Briefing of the event : Tech How Competition was held for the students of BE V semester. The topic given to them was "4 G Communication Technology". Each one was given a time slice of 2- 3 minutes to express their views on the topic . Prof. Aparna Karwal and Prof. Ritesh Bohra were designated as the judges for this event. Students participated in it with great interest. This event take shape by the coordination of Prof. Ananth Babu. This event was merged with Self Introduction activity.

Event Held on : 24 July 2015

Objective : To enable our students to express their ideas on wireless technology.

Briefing of the event : Tech Review Competition was held for the students of BE VII semester. Each student expresses their thoughts on one of the topics Wireless Power Transmission, Wi-Max and Zigbee in 2- 3 minutes. Prof. Pankaj M. Gulhane and Prof. Gouri Shankar Sharma evaluated this activity. Great excitement was observed among the students. The assessment was based on the content, communication skills/voice modulation and confidence. There was a tie for 2nd position.
