Engineer's Day Celebrations

September 15, the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya who was a great Indian engineer and statesman, is remembered and celebrated as Engineers' Day all across India.

DIMAT (Engineering wing) also joined the band wagon of Engineers to celebrate this day with a plethora of activities. The celebrations started in the morning with technical events like QUIZ, DEBATE, POSTER PRESENTATION, WORKSHOPS etc. organized and hosted by various departments. The formal function was held in the afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Seminar Hall with many dignitaries addressing the students.

The Chief Guest was Shri Madhukar Meshram, Chief Engineer, SECR, Bilaspur. In his address, he mentioned that Engineering is a platform that has now become a primary degree. It is a professional art of applying science. He urged the students to work hard to reach the pinnacle of success, in the path set by Shri Visvesvarayya. Dr. Anil Tiwari, Secretary, DES and Dr. Aloke Chakravartty, Managing Director, DEL, also spoke on the occasion.

Student representatives from every department presented the scope and prospects of the different streams along with their respective departmental achievements. Winners of various events were given prizes by the Chief Guest. This was followed by the cultural events at Amphi Theatre.
